By the time we shower and get dressed, I have a feeling that there are cameras in every room of the house. Walking into the garage, I find the radio frequency detector, and start to scan the whole fuckin’ place. I find another one in the living room, two in the kitchen, one in the kid’s room, four in the master bedroom and one in each bathroom.

Trix watches as I stomp each camera into the title floor. She looked pale when I found the one in the kid’s room. “How long have they been watching?” she asks in disbelief. “Why was there a camera in the kid’s room?” She shakes her head, and I see that she’s close to breaking down. She’s always been strong, so to see this breaks my heart. Not once has she ever crumbled under all the weight that has been on her shoulders.

“I don’t know, baby, but I’m going to find out. Most of the cameras were in here, so I think they were watching you.” Her body shivers, and then she puts her face in her hands.

“What could I have done to make someone do that? I don’t understand.” Her voice breaks and when her eyes turn to me, I see all the hurt, sadness and fear. Tossing all the broken cameras into the garbage, I make my way towards her and lean her back on the bed.

“It’s not you. It’s them. I will find out who’s doing this to us, and I will make sure they never come near you or the kids.” Her hand reaches out and gently cups my cheek.

“Do you really think that Romeo has something to do with this?” Her fingers run along my new beard, and then make their way up the side of my head. Leaning into her touch, I close my eyes. I don’t want her to freak the fuck out.

“Yeah, I do. You left him because of me.” She sighs, and then her legs wrap around my hips. “He’s wanted you for as long as I can remember and, now that he’s had you, he may not stop trying to get you back. Blaming you for the murder of my ex-wife was one way that he knew he could get rid of me. He knows I’d go to jail before I let you go. He knows how much I love you.” Her fingers slide through the top of my hair and she blows out a breath.

“Are you going to kill him?” Her question is quiet, and I almost didn’t hear her.

“If he has anything to do with this shit, yeah, I won’t hesitate.” A tear falls down her cheek, and she looks down towards my hips. “I know he means something to you, but if he’s the one trying to fuck with you, it’s already settled. You know I won’t take this shit lightly, especially when it comes to those kids of ours. Stavros can come after me if he wants, but I’ll protect what’s mine.
